From a vision, similar to Paul’s Macedonia vision in Acts 16:9, of a group of Vietnamese Immigrants in an American church without a Vietnamese spiritual leader, pastor Bui Duc Nguyen found this church in 1988 under the name Vietnamese Community Church and provided services at Trinity Episcopal and Assembly of God Church in San Jose.
In 2003, our church was incorporated under the name of Shekinah Christian Church and held services at Jubilee Christian Center and Evergreen Methodist in San Jose until 2021.
Beginning of 2022, our church changed its name to New Life Valley and is worshipping God at Family Life Church location on 801 Hellyer Avenue, San Jose, CA. 95111, marking a new chapter in our long, rich history. Our vision is that New Life Valley Church will provide a spiritual home for the Silicon Valley community seeking a healed, restored, transformed, and victorious life in Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit.
